Research Update (June 2, 2025)

Research Update – June 2, 2025
Diligence Technologies Inc. – West Tennessee

Events from the Past Month

The CPDA Conference in Cape Coral marked the close of another winter and spring meeting season for our team. It was a great opportunity to connect one last time with industry partners and customers before diving headfirst into fieldwork. Since returning, our full attention has shifted to planting and early-season trial execution.

Upcoming Events

We don’t have any major travel or conferences on the calendar for the next couple of months. Our team will be staying local as we wrap up planting and begin in-season evaluations. If you find yourself in West Tennessee, give us a call — we’d love to catch up.

Cropping Seasons

  • Cotton: Yielded trials are mostly in the ground, though we’re managing some replanting efforts following late-May rains.
  • Soybeans: Planting is now underway across the region. We're finalizing trial placements as weather and soil conditions permit.
  • Weed Control & Ratings: Early-season weed control work has begun, and our first round of ratings is in progress. After a delayed start to the season, we’re working hard to get back on track.

Greenhouse Activities

Our early greenhouse trials have largely concluded, with a few late-season projects still underway. These should wrap up in the coming weeks — just in time for the summer heat to arrive in full force.

Upcoming Trial Reminders

We’re now locking in plans for our fall armyworm corn trials, which are typically planted in July. These non-yield trials benefit from reliable pest pressure due to the late planting window.

Weather Update

Rain continues to make regular appearances, slowing our progress. Soil conditions vary, but we’ve managed to keep equipment moving during brief dry windows. It’s been a challenge, but we’re making steady (if slow) headway.

Pest Update

Summer annual weeds — including pigweed, morningglory, and foxtail — are emerging rapidly. Insects and diseases have been mostly quiet so far, but warmer conditions are likely to change that soon. We’ll be monitoring fields closely in the coming weeks.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to support your work this season. Don’t hesitate to reach out if there’s any way we can assist.
